John Kitson Delt Pillar Award

This award recognizes Undergraduate Marietta Delts who have made significant and invaluable contributions to the Epsilon Upsilon Chapter’s well-being, furthering its mission and increasing the quality of its brotherhood — particularly if they have never held one of the Chapter’s elected offices.

The award is monetary, consisting of an amount equal to one year’s dues, paid by the Marietta Delt Educational Foundation directly to the Chapter to be applied to the recipient student’s account. If the recipient is a senior, the money may be paid directly to him.

Belbin Training

During the 2019 Spring Weekend, alumni leaders participated in Belbin Training and at Homecoming 2019 the MDEF voted to support Belbin training for undergrads moving forward.

What are Belbin Team Roles?

From the Belbin website: Belbin Team Roles are used to identify behavioral strengths and weaknesses in the workplace. Whether developing people, resolving conflict or fine-tuning high performance, Belbin Team Roles provide the language to ensure that individuals and teams communicate and work together with greater understanding.

  • Balanced teams based on behavioural contributions rather than job titles

  • Self-aware individuals who can adapt their behaviours according to the situation and business need

  • The right people doing the right tasks, leading to better-performing teams

  • Depersonalised team conversations, using a common language to discuss team contributions

  • Informed, impartial decision-making, based on fact rather than a 'gut-feel' which may be subject to unconscious bias

  • Confidence when making decisions involving people

  • Insight into behavioural strengths and weaknesses which aren't necessarily revealed by a CV

  • The language to help facilitate coaching conversations

Undergraduate Training Support

The MDEF is committed to helping more undergraduates take advantage of Delta Tau Delta divisional conferences and Karnea. We believe that the experience of being with Delts and participating in the educational opportunities creates positive outcomes on campus at Marietta College. MDEF also considers other educational opportunities for undergraduates, including outside seminars and bringing leading trainers to campus.
